Living on the submarine had worn quickly on Leon Vercetti, making desperation sink into his spirit with each and every day that he was forced to sleep underneath the ocean. Between the questionable hygiene practices of his peers and the lack of entertainment about the metallic vessel, it was beginning to make him physically ill being aboard for much longer than necessary. Without the funds to move out on his own, Leon would be forced to resort to old habits that really never died, but he liked to pretend they did. “This one seems good enough.” He muttered underneath his breath as he flicked his cigarette to the ground, grinding it into the pavement with a boot. A darkened dwelling stood before Leon, the ideal mark for a burglar and the opportune place to make money lifting the contents inside for some quick income. Stealing was always a high that could only be matched by the pleasures of the flesh, though one was often easier to accomplish than the other.

Checking the contents of his belongings, Leon took a quick inventory of his tools to make sure he was prepared for the endeavor. Drawing the roll of duct-tape from his bag, he began applying the adhesive material onto the window glass with liberal use. Next was the hammer that he used to smash the glass beneath the tape, both silencing the impact and stopping the shards from scattering over the ground. “Easy.” Leon commented internally, peeling back the tape and removing the section of glass, allowing him enough room to slip an arm in and unlock the window. Sliding the apparatus open quietly, he carefully lifted himself through the opening and dropped onto the other side. A gentle clicking noise brought his flashlight to life, illuminating the room in a soft red glow that would be unsuspecting from someone on the outside looking in. “Alright, what kinda shit you all got?” Now the hunt would begin, looking for anything valuable worth lifting.

the living room didn't have much. a couch and a coffee table currently filled with empty chinese takeouts on its surface were the only furniture, if one doesn't count a piece of indoor plant that priam took from elijah gardner thinking that it was some kind of cannibis, only to be corrected the day after.

around the room were fairy tale books whose titles he got from Chu-e Choi. most of them were stories about xerneas, but some of them may have been just picture books with sawsbuck on it, having mistaken the pokemon for the legendary. random piles of paper were also scattered, but at least they were clean and without food stains.

a single light was on inside; one that was near the kitchen counters. priam had left them on when he went to get a glass of water in the middle of the night. a single pokeball was illuminated, alongside a pile of candy bars that priam stocked to feed bryan delarosa to make him feel welcome or something.

the door leading to priam's bedroom was slightly open, having retreated to his room just moments before.

[attr="class","bryanbody"]Bryan had been asleep in his room, he had his Silvally and Absol sleeping with him in his bed. His bed was kind of barebones so he fed into that theme by going for a traditional Johto style theme which was minimalist themed. But in reality it was cause Bryan had put most of his new money into rent and didn't want to burn the rest of it in furniture so he simply filled his room with a bed and the rest into his liquor stash in the living room in the form of an old mini bar area he found and was planning on trying to restore. [break][break]

He heard some noise in the kitchen, like a sound of a fridge opening and closing...maybe Priam was stumbling about getting water? Whatever it was Bryan went right back to sleep afterwards. Absol seemed pretty calm so he wasn't too worried and it didn't look like any straggler fairy types were watching Bryan since they were in the city.

“Are you shitting me?” Leon was hardly able to believe that those living in Ever Grande City could be so hopelessly destitute. “I hate it here.” He lamented internally as he moved towards the Pokeball that was strangely illuminated within the light of the kitchen. “Better be something worth my time.” There wasn’t the opportunity to see what lay within the device, stashing the valuable away quickly in his belongings before moving onto the cabinets that the apartment housed. “Empty, empty, fucking empty.” Who were these people that they couldn’t even afford to have something worth stealing in the town that was so well known for being the seat of Victory Road and the Elite Four.

Finally, valuables presented themselves in the form of a worn liquor cabinet, quickly worked open with the tools he’d brought along for this job. Leon popped the top off one of the bottles and took a deep drink of the intoxicating beverage, hoping the sting of the liquor would take away from the pain that came with nothing to steal. “Picture books and candy bars, does a child live here by himself?” As agonizing as the fruitless effort may have been, at least he could get drunk on the expense of the owner of this shithole.

having just been up from getting water, priam wasn't entirely in deep sleep just yet. shuffling outside his room stirs him up, and while used to living alone in the past year, being wary of things around him wasn't in his first reactions just yet.

"bry?" priam calls from his room lazily. "are ya having nightmares again?"

he shuffles out of bed and starts to make his way out of his room, still having the misconception that it was his new roommate making the noise instead of a robber. half-closed eyes dimmed his sight should his half-asleep brain not dull his awareness to his surroundings.

he comes out wearing boxers with one hand carrying a pillow, the other scratching his stomach.

"do you want someone to sleep with you?" he asks.

the intent was someone akin to a parent pandering to a child's sleeping problem and not something someone with a dirty mind would have. the choice of words could mean eitherway, however.

Absol being especially alert for some reason as it began to bark at priam, upon initial thought bryan had figured absol was mad because priam wasn't sleeping with the "pack". But as absol continued to bark bryan woke up a bit more and behind priam there was a figure... [break][break]

bryan raised an eyebrow and rubbed his own eye "Go..." he said to see what absol wanted to check out as Absol bolted passed priam possibly almost knocking him over and leaped at leon. It bite down on his hand as it seemed like it sensed the home intruder. Bryan was still unsure as to what was happening as he stood up and followed the pokemon sloppily.

There were sounds of shuffling from one of the bedrooms, accompanied by a male voice asking what he construed to be a rather sexual suggestion of whoever else was living on the premises, Leon was practically perpetually horny after all. “Shit.” Leon whispered under his breath, clicking off the flashlight and finding a spot to hide behind the couch. Of course someone would be home, this was just his luck as of late. Killing them wasn’t exactly off the table, should one of them discover his presence in the apartment, though he preferred to avoid compounding his crimes. Perhaps they would be content with discovering it was just one another making noise in the middle of the night, allowing him to slip out without notice.

Growling from the other end of the room essentially brought the end to this ruse immediately, peering over the fabric of the couch to see an Absol staring him down. “Fuck this.” As the Pokemon charged, Leon readied himself and grabbed onto their horn, using the momentum to sling the Absol across the room before it could latch on with its teeth. He reached down to the Pokeballs on his belt and tossed one into the center of the room, unleashing the Electivire contained within. “Come get some, then.”

he immediately wakes up upon being pushed to the floor by the absol. he lands on his back, hitting his head with the wooden floors and causing him to writhe on the floors with his hand covering the back of his head and his feet flailing about in pain.

"f-f-f-f-..."

his voice trails as he tries to keep his voice low for the neighbors. the scuffling gets him to force himself to ignore the pain and get up.

"what's going on?!" he asks no one in particular as he rushes to the nearest light switch. he runs over to where one was located by the middle of the apartment as his eyes partially get blinded by the sudden surge of light.

he sees someone he's not particularly familiar with, but seeing he has an electivire, he figures he must have been a trainer.

"ooh, i see. you're here to challenge the great conrad to battle, huh?! ambushing won't get you advantages! wait here, i'll get my pokemon!"

priam grabs the pillow and rushes to his room to take a pokemon to fight the stranger with.

[attr="class","bryanbody"] Priam wanted to sleep together again? Bryan lazily raised his hand waving for him to come over, he might've had a nightmare or something. He didn't know and he didn't really care as he didn't even worry as for the reason. However, Abby getting up AND knocking Priam over? That was suspicious, even more was he heard stuff falling over from the living room. Something was up he opened his eyes fully and looked past Priam to see if he could spot Abby. [break][break]

Bryan immediately reached under his bed and pulled out a gun and pointed it at the stranger. "Either you or your Pokémon move? I pop one in you. Then the whole neighborhood knows you're here and your Pokémon get shot and we get blood samples." he said as Priam ran off to grab his pokeball. "let go of Abby. Now." he ordered calmly as the Absol growled and released it's bite from Leon. He moved closer, his shirtless body appearing under the moonlight from the moon and the open window and he released the safety on his gun.

    “Whoa, whoa, whoa.” Leon released his grip on the Absol and raised his hands upwards into the air, gesturing with a nod for the Electivire to do the same. “No one wants to get shot, so let’s just relax, amico.” Civilians weren’t allowed to have firearms in Hoenn, meaning that he’d either broken into the house of someone in law enforcement or… “Hold on a minute.” Leon couldn’t help but burst into laughter as the realization washed over him, lowering his hands to his side as he was suddenly assured he wasn’t in any tangible danger.

    “Conrad? As in priam conrad ?” There was an obviously amused look on his face, glancing towards the man who returned with his Pokeball before turning back to the man with the gun. “I suppose that would make you Bryan Delarosa then, huh?” Leon took a few steps forward, assuming that he wouldn’t be getting shot anytime soon by either of these men. “I’m Leon Vercetti, we work together.” A hand raised to trace the letter ‘R’ in the air with a finger, not wanting to exactly shout the name of their organization, considering anyone could be listening.

    “I can’t believe out of all the places in Ever Grande I could rob, I ended up breaking into your place.” Leon leaned against his Electivire and let out another laugh, crossing his arms over his chest and looking over the body of bryan delarosa . “I must say, if you two are fucking then I am jealous of Mr. Conrad.”

a sound of a pokeball opening is heard from the other room. priam gets out of it with his urshifu on tow, opening the lights since he's ready to fight. when he goes to see the challenger, however, any will to fight wasn't there anymore.

he only manages to hear the last bit of what leon was trying to say, however.

"of course everyone's gonna be jealous of me! i'm smart, charismatic, and hot as fuck!"

as his pokemon slams a fist on its own palm, priam puts a hand on the urshifu's fists, lowering them down. his head turns from the burglar to bryan, a question being asked as soon as he got curious about it.

"you two know each other?"

She growled at the stranger but she begrudgingly obeyed her trainer and came over to his side. [break][break]
He seemingly recognized Priam...was this an ex? he suddenly REALLY felt like pulling the trigger if that was true. "Who the fuck are you?" he asked as the man instantly gave his name, Leon Vercetti? He hadn't really heard of him before. Then again, there was still plenty of people bryan didn't know. [break][break]
However he DID know they were both rockets so he lowered the gun and called Absol off. He looked towards priam confused how the fuck he was so lost the entire time. "I was hoping you knew him." he asked. [break][break]
Bryan lowered the gun and approached Leon and grabbed the bottle of liquor from his hand. "Give me this back you rat." he said grabbing the bottle "Why are you even robbing people? Rocket doesn't pay you enough or some shit?" he asked curiously not realizing the irony that he used to be the same.

Electivire lowered their arms once Leon had done so, looking rather bored with the situation now that there wasn’t going to be a fight breaking out. “I wouldn’t say I’m popular or anything.” Leon mulled over a thought before a moment before snapping his fingers. “I’m the one that's fucking Chu-e, don’t know if that helps.” With the danger having passed, Leon allowed the knife that was tucked into his sleeve to harmlessly slide back into its sheath, offering a smile towards them both. “Well I think we can agree this has been sufficiently awkward, no?” A frown crossed his lips as the liquor was wrenched out of his hands, not even having a chance to get tipsy yet.

“Rocket doesn’t pay enough to get a place that isn’t living on that fucking sub.” Leon crossed his arms over his chest and let out a frustrated sigh. “I swear to Arceus if I have to spend one more night on that metal deathtrap i’m going to go postal on the first smelly ass grunt I see give me a dirty look.” His shoulders shrugged, letting out a small laugh at the idea of bludgeoning some poor unsuspecting Rockets head in. “I am a thief by trade, I thought I could drum up a little extra income by lifting some belongings off the folks of Ever Grande City. Lady Serendipity just happened to make your home the first one I broke into, strange coincidence right?”

the one fucking chu-e... priam doesn't know if it helps considering how 'friendly' the underboss is with a lot of people to add on top of priam being unable to distinguish between platonic and romantic affection.

he takes his phone and opens up the directory that has all the contact info of rocket members that he got from the intel department. he had only used it once before to organize a surprise mister walsh birthday party, but it was set up to automatically update.

"oh hey, his name really is here!" priam turns to bryan and exclaims. he calls the number and holds his phone up his ear to check if what he says checks out. "hello, hello."

he keeps the phone against his ear.

"that's when you get a day job!" the irony of getting a second job after being in a criminal organization fails priam. "most of my money goes to rent so i feel you. must be so unlucky that the first place you broke into was ours, especially when all our neighbors are stacked. this is ever grande after all."

he pauses, and then briefly turns to bryan before going back to leon.

"wait, can't you just make mister choi your sugar daddy? isn't he rich?"
